Your Treatment Journey

Being referred for endodontic care can feel unsettling for many patients.

At Fraser Callaghan Endodontics, the process is designed to be clear, supportive and straightforward from the very beginning. Every stage is carefully explained so patients feel informed and comfortable throughout their treatment.

1. Referral From Your Dentist

Most patients are referred by their own dentist for specialist endodontic treatment. Once we receive the referral, our team will contact the patient directly to arrange an initial consultation at one of our practice locations in Callander or Windermere.

Referring dentists are welcome to include any clinical information or radiographs to assist with diagnosis and treatment planning.

2. Consultation & Assessment

During the consultation, Fraser will carry out a detailed examination of the tooth and surrounding structures. Where required, advanced diagnostic imaging such as a CBCT 3D scan may be used may be used to provide a clear picture of the root canal system. The diagnosis, treatment options, likely prognosis and fees will always be explained clearly so patients understand exactly what to expect.

If root canal treatment is required, it will be performed using the most up to date evidence based techniques and advanced endodontic equipment to ensure precision and comfort. Fraser uses an operating microscope for high powered magnification inside the tooth, as well as ultrasonic instruments for optimal cleaning of the root canals and 3-dimensional obturation systems for sealing the newly disinfected canals. Treatment is carried out in a calm environment with careful attention to patient comfort throughout the procedure.

4. Return to Your Dentist

Once treatment is completed, patients are returned to the care of their referring dentist for any further restorative work and ongoing dental care. Referring dentists receive detailed reports and updates following treatment so that continuity of care is maintained at every stage.
